A special gift to Adventure Cycling and a chance to see the Olympic road cycling races

Earlier this summer, I was approached by two long-time Adventure Cycling members, currently residing in North Holmwood, England, who wanted to do something special for Adventure Cycling.

They proposed opening up their home -- Arlington Cottage, built in 1880 -- and escorting two Adventure Cycling guests to the Olympic road cycling races in July 2012 for a ten night stay (with flexibility on the exact dates). Needless to say, we were happy to bring such an offer, in the form of an auction, to our members.

Besides the excitement of the Olympic races, this opportunity is full of adventuring possibilities. North Holmwood is a historic area with Bronze Age burial grounds, a Roman road, and Pilgrim's Way (the Pilgrim route from Winchester to Canterbury in Chaucer). You can actually ride the Olympic race course or explore the plethora of designated bike routes in southeast England. Our donors, Jill and Del, are eager to help plan bicycle rides, trips to local attractions such as Denbies Estate Winery, and make this home stay a real treat for the auction winners.

By bidding now on this special Summer 2012 Olympics homestay, you will be supporting Adventure Cycling and all that we do to encourage people of all ages to travel by bicycle.
