Map Updates to the Printer

As I type this, my desk is strewn with printouts covered in red ink scrawls and orange highlights. We are more than knee deep in reprint-land here in Routes & Mapping.

It has been a crazy, work and caffeine-filled stretch for the whole team getting these files prepped. This batch contains straight reprints (maps we are retaining in the Freehand format due to time), GIS conversions and the new routing across North Dakota affecting four map sections.

Hopefully, as you read this, most -- if not all -- of the maps in the current round of updates are at the printer. We're keeping our fingers crossed that the process runs smoothly and we'll have maps in house by the first week-ish in May.

GEOPOINTS BULLETIN is written by Jennifer 'Jenn' Milyko, an Adventure Cycling cartographer, and appears weekly, highlighting curious facts, figures, and persons from Adventure Cycling's Route Network with tips and hints for personal route creation thrown in for good measure. She also wants to remind you that map corrections and comments are always welcome via the online Map Correction Form.
