Now let's all go for a bike ride

UPDATE: It's 10:14am on June 1, and I'm pleased to announce that we made it! Late last night, while most of us where sleeping, a few more donors came in and helped us punch through and reach our goal of $50,000! Hooray!

As I'm writing this post, it's 9:27pm on May 31. There are only two and a half hours left in our Build It. Bike It. Be a Part of It. campaign to support the U.S. Bicycle Route System (USRBS). We are less than $300 away from our $50,000 goal (not counting any offline donations that we will receive in the mail in the next couple of days). Of course, you can still make a donation if you didn't get a chance to before May 31.

In the last four days alone we've raised $10,000.

Now, my colleagues and I had complete faith in our members, fans, friends, and followers, and that you all believed in the importance of the U.S. Bicycle Route System as much as we do and that we would absolutely make our goal. But in all honesty, I must say, even though I've been a fundraiser for over a decade, I still get a little choked up when I see generosity like this literally pour in during the final hours. Between all our projects this year, you all have been very generous, so when we make goals like this it reaffirms to everyone in our office that what we do matters to a lot of people and it's a vote of confidence to keep pushing forward.

So before I go any further, let me say: THANK YOU!

Thank you to all our donors who made contributions small and large, helping us meet our goal, dollar by dollar.

Thank you to all of our business sponsors, who challenged our community to raise the funds and donated products to reward our donors for giving. Thank you also to our web partners who helped spread the word.

Thank you to our state partners in Washington, New Hampshire, Arkansas, and Missouri.

And we want to specially thank all our Core Supporters who worked so hard throughout the whole month to spread awareness and raise money from their family, friends, and colleagues to build the USBRS.

We'll be posting a full report on the campaign and total amount raised in the coming week, but for now, let's all go ride our bikes!
